The easiest way is to band them. I belive the tool is called and elastrator. No bleeding and no worry about flies. The younger the better. We used to do calves before they were a weak old.

Oh...I have one of those. We bought it to dock tails on show pigs. I'm sure I even have the bands. These goats, like I say, run in the grove from brith on, and I worry that one of them might start bleeding and I won't know it til it's too late.

As for euthanasia, that's a toughie. I've had to do it a couple of times, but both times there was no other option. Fred has done it a couple of times as well, but when his favorite boar hog broke it's leg and needed to be put down, he wouldn't even be on the property when it happened.
