The surprising truth about motor oils

/ The surprising truth about motor oils #101
Uh oh, I think I just opened up another can of worms here .....

Hey, speaking of worms, maybe you guys can help me out with an argument we're having over on FishingByNet.com ....

A lot of guys think dendrobeanas are the way to go because they're tough, lively, can survive the cold water for longer, and wriggle like no other fishing worm.

Other guys say to go with lob worms because fish will eat them in any conditions, especially where there has been floodwater, and because even "fussy" species like pike will eat this type of fishing worm naturally.

And other guys insist that red worms are the best, even though they're harder to grow, cost more, are prone to damage when handled too much, and deteriorate quickly. They say that the extra expense is worth it because they make excellent bait for perch, roach, dace, tench and bream, and are exceptionally good in canals, streams and ponds.

Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance,

John

Or have I made my point yet? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well, if a forum has a category called "Worm & Lures" I would expect to see user comments and preferences about just that.

Or would it be preferable if people just remain silent about everything?

Charles, you got me fair and square ... I'm going to plead guilty to trying to have just a little too much fun. Far be it from me to appear to discourage the free and open discussion of whatever topic or topics anyone chooses to. It sure isn't my place to decide what gets talked about, or when it's been talked about "enough".

My eyeballs just started to glaze over a little when the discussion turned to who designed the algoriths for the GM oil warning light, but others' eyeballs may vary.

But your point is well made, and well taken - my apologies to all for crossing the line from opining to editorializing.

Ok John, this is what I hear . If you soak the worm(any worm) in amsoil for 30 min. you can catch more fish than you can you can eat............... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Fish in my area prefer worms to be soaked in DELO 400,maybe as much as 5 to 1. To be fair to the synthetic guys I'll do a survey next time I,m on the lake. It could have been 6 to 1, I can't remember what that bass told me. whmmm..

EVERYONE who knows anything about FishOil knows that any Grouper 5 oil when used to oil your worms last LONGER and require few changes between fish. You can catch more fish, bigger fish too, on fewer worms. Dino oiled worms just don't last as long between fish.

John, no apology necessary. As Skypup once told me, "LOL, no problem, all well that oils well!!!"

Keep up the good posts--I enjoy them, and I'm sure others do, too.

Yes, indeed...

My personal experience (Ocean fishing) is to spray your anchovy with WD-40 and use a rusted old hook soaked in dino oil. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The kicker, however, is to sharpen the old hook with a Norton or Arkansas STONE ...not a DIAMOND file. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
