I know JD is just now introducing the 1-series, but thought everyone would like to see what comes next... well, maybe not "next," but it's a pretty cool concept.

Ah, no thanks.

I agree, Not for my garage..Our company has already bought this concept in Aircraft deicer trucks. It does eliminate a second driver in the cab. time will tell if it will survive. It look like Star wars when it is working, with cab on the boom and icer guns out the nose....

Cameras are forbotten, with out paperwork. But my first thought was an AT-At...It is very neat looking triangular plexiglass cab. with driver leaning back. It protects the operator from the cold and chemical.

So, something like a Safeaero 220?

It is neat yes, but there are no specifications, no mechanical diagrams, nothing, just the exterior of the machine is shown. Their cab boom has no hydraulic cylinder, how does it move? The suspension seems to be self leveling, again, no hydraulics, not even hydraulic lines, no trans axle, that's a lot of stress put on those 4 points. The computer on the cab glass obstructs the operators view, the FEL is way to far out, not enough balance on the machine, all the weight from the FEL is set on the front 2 tires. I think mechanically about those things, until i actually see the parts break down, it is just fiction.

Huh?
Look at the boxes I marked:

There is a ram to lift the boom and one to tilt the cab.

For counterweights, it probably has some cast iron weights and the weight of the de-icer. Not much harder to balance than a rough terrain forklift (which this looks the boom was was based on).
