The Tree Stump vs. the Big Bad Kubota

Amazing what that little BX whatever it is can do. Why that stump looks like a 1500 pounder..

Yeah, my tree (<font color="blue">see here</font>) lost it’s battle too- a red oak at 26”+. That root ball is about 7’ in diameter. It took more time scratching it down to a manageable size than popping it out. Anyway, the hole is filled-up and the remains are headed to my holler…

Kevin,
I have had pretty good luck using a pressure washer or a "driveway nozzle" to knock the dirt off of stumps before I burn them. It also helps that you have 3 stumps. If you can stack them against each other they really help to keep each other burning. With a tractor and loader you can keep pushing them together as they burn to keep them burning. It's really difficult to burn a single stump.

Well after reading Gregs post, now I know what he can do with the stump. Mount it on the wall. Some of those roots could pass for a 12 point Buck.

But I suppose few would see the beauty in it except the one that brung it in... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Good catch Junkman!

Kevin )</font>

I was kind of thinking of having it mounted on the side of the house........ sort of like they do with Deer heads!!!!!! LOL..... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif dig the hole deeper and put it in upside down is the second though..... did that later in the day..... after the hole was prepared.....

Sorry Frank...... I swore not to return to Buffalo about 35 or 40 years ago.. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif. Besides, you get too much snow for my liking. I heard that it was July before the last snow finally melted and who knows how much is already on the ground now..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I was thinking of a video..... "How to pull stumps", but I didn't think it would sell very well on the TBN..... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here is the last picture..... I wasn't sure if I was going into the hole or the stump was coming out.. it was like landing a shark when you go fishing for cod....... I am going to need a few cans of touch up paint to cover over the battle scars.... I have been invited California to remove a giant Sequoia tree stump as my next feat......

Potassium nitrate, poured into a couple of holes bored in your stump, watered in, and given a couple of weeks to penetrate, will allow you to burn that stump in one application of fire.

Nice job, Junkman! It's amazing how much easier stumps are to manage when you get them out of the hole and onto level ground.
