Hmmmm, four wheel steer would make it a little easier for most of us to use. The advantage of four wheel steer is you don't cut corners, you go around them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike_C,

What a great job you did! I really admire folks who have the patience to build something that makes their life easier. I've got all the tools I need to make some really cool stuff, but I find I'm always short on time and patience. Thanks for posting this project here on TBN. You could have just built it without letting us know about it, so thanks for thinkin' bout us guys.

I was just cleaning out some junk from our last move and I threw this in the trailer to haul away: nursery cart . It has two flat tires that I didn't want to deal with and the silly cart is always in the way. I'm pulling it out of the trailer when I get home for a cool project like yours. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks again

I like photo documentaries. Thanks for the posting this. Good ideas and a straight forward implementation.

And, a tow bar would be nice.

A buddy of mine also added a tractor umbrella mounted on the corner, in case he has to work out in the sun. (this might help make it more "ultimate")

Oh, yeah, JD green would have been nice, but it does match the Lincoln. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good job.
Two thumbs up!

Don't forget the cooler and the coffee maker for that ultimate title! It could be the welders version of the infamous Chalkie Cup! I can see this becoming another marathon posting.

Thanks for the ideas. I just bought a used Lincoln AC buzzbox after years of wanting one. The 50 amp extension cord would be very useful in my set up also.

I also noticed something else amiss...

How in the world is Mike going to run his angle grinder?? He's got 220, no 110, go figure!

Well, Mike.....

You know if we keep adding things to Mike's welding cart, he's going to need a three point (dare I say - Imatch) adapter on the cart) /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You know what's goofy, those Lincolns are very popular, yet they want to get in yer pocket again for more change to add wheels.
I have several friends who have those welders, and everyone of them has their own idea of a cart. Apparently, the Lincoln wheels are made of gold.

But, the coolest, cheapest cart - made from an abandonded stainless shopping cart. Remove the front caster wheels, remove the basket, turn the cart around and upside down and the frame that had the caster wheels is now upright for the handle, and the Lincoln sits right in it like it was made there. Perfect fit. The original handle is now out in front of the cart as a stop to keep it upright.
David is a heck of a scrounger! He's always got these cool ideas to recycle stuff (junk). /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mike,

Nice work - both the cart and the webpage.

I plan to blatantly steal a bunch of your design work for my own cart. I didn't even know I needed a welding cart until I saw yours. Then I realized that a cart (and appropriate extension cord) will allow me to easily weld much farther away from the garage, , AND save me from having to rearrange the whole freakin' garage just to make space for that fixed welding bench I had been thinking I needed.

Thanks!
