Me and many of the people I associate with regularly are doing business as normal, or from home not having a long commute or even with bonuses. Sounds good, but who is going to pay for all that?

People have this naive notion that we are going to opt for domestic products from here on in. Just wait til they have to buy a $15.00 Canadian made fly swatter! And try finding people that want to work in the fly swatter factory. Not something you can do from the comfort of your home.

According to the Mauna Loa Observatory, PPM C02 for April 30th, 2020 was 417.31. Last year at the same time it was 414.31.

Ask me if I really care.....

I do my part when I farm to maintain the pollution levels. I own nothing that has pollution controls installed. Just peachy with me. I like diesel smoke, tells me the engine is making power.

We do tend to vote for the lowest price.

It is hard to find enough US citizens to run our meat processing plants or to harvest our food.

Can you think of one positive that may come out of this pandemic?

Thanks I had never heard of Mauna Loa Observatory before and the work they do.

None in my family who larger farms employee immigrants. Some years ago, my bro-law had a bunch of south Africans employed but that only lasted for a couple of years.

There will be many on several fronts but it will take a while...hindsight is 20-20 or better...

Around here (West KY) most that work in the tobacco come from MX and some of the same people come back to the same farms for many years. That seems to work for most or at least to 2020 pandemic made crossing the border next to impossible. The move to hemp farming locally seemed to have died hard last year due to the processors that went bankrupt and took out some farmer with them but that was pre pandemic.

On the upside, local Sheriff says DWI arrests are down 60%. It's great to keep drunks off the road.
I wonder if the Sheriff knows if it has anything to do with the stay at home order and the fact that all bars and restaurants are closed?

Yes - this self quarantine has had very little affect on me here. Into my pickup - go on a nice trip - stop and gas back up - home. I call it - mobile quarantine. The only folks I see are in their vehicles also. One of these days I'll be able to get a hamburger with fries. I can wait.

All of the fast food joints are open here for drive thu, just not dine in. We have been going for fast food just a much as before. And have been to the "carry out" of one sit down type restaurante. Wife had a hankering for steak and all the trimmings...
