Where do I begin.....
I bought an anvil, built a forge. (per instructions on a show I saw on RFD-TV) and now I'm ready to start making "stuff".

Anyone know of a good link to a blacksmithing supplier? I'll ring up a farrier I know come monday morning, but I'm getting antsy. I WANNA KNOW NOW!

Thanks in advance

Good source for most everything is centaurforge.com. Bought my forge and some odds and ends there.

One suggestion is to ask around and find a local chapter of ABANA (abana.org) and see if they have a hammer in sometime soon. Lots of times there's a sale area, and a green coal class to learn the basics.

I don't know where you are in Kentucky, but there are a couple of art/folk schools around. John C. Cambell in NC (folkschool.org) has week long courses all of the time. Not cheap, though you can learn lots in a short time.

I haven't lit a fire in the forge in 3 or 4 years, between the kids, work, and all that needs to happen to keep the household going. Keeping all the stuff hoping for a little break to be able to do some hammering.
