Most years the leaves are on the trees nd in color for a good while until a stiff wind chnges that. Seems leaves this year have not stayed on the trees very long, without the help of any wind.

Foliage is almost totally gone by here, poplars, oaks, etc. still have leaves but their colors are quite muted. Maples mostly bare, the heavy rain we had last week didn't help. This was a terrible year for apples, our trees had maybe 25% of what they usually have.

Was a weird summer...everything seemed to be early from the foliage to most of the garden.

Weird here too. The Black Walnuts are fairly normal as the nuts dropped and half the leaves down. Oaks are all over the place as some are way early and others green as can be. There is not many acorns/nuts again this year.

My pear tree dropped most of it's fruit before it was complete. I've picked up 25 gallon of undeveloped pears so far. I'm guessing there's only another 10 gallon left on the tree. We had a frost a couple nights ago so hope we can get a few good pears this year. The rest will become Deer food. They love 'em. :)

I have seen the same buck under my apple trees at dusk for the last 3-4 weeks

We had 5 big black walnut trees. They all shed their nuts on August 10 during a 120 mph wind storm. We have 3 walnut trees left, the other 2 hit the ground the same time as the nuts.

I intended to ask you if that wind storm hit you but forgot to. That was very bad. I saw pictures of corn fields flattened.

My wife and a friend went to the Groto last Friday. She said there were a lot of corn fields baled into large round bales. Is that corn that was flattened?

Sorry to hear about your Walnut trees....

We have never had so many mushrooms but I don't think I have ever seen them show up and then wilt so quickly.

Well our Pecan trees have branches where the bark looks burned off and dying.........
Hit one low branch with ROPs and thought it was hailing...!!! pecans all over....the ground.....some were really good but many still in their husk.
The UV has been brutally strong down here......neighbor's garden was almost total loss......he placed landscape fabrice a few feet over them to see if his winter garden will make it......

The UV sure has damaged all of our six pecan trees...the Oaks and Weeping Willows seem to be hanging in there.....
...we are in the middle of our home build now that painters are working their way out.......
I'd like to give even our oaks a few pounds of fertilizer for the winter but it may be to late.......???
What do you seasoned gardeners think???
Too late for winter fertilizer........if so I'll have to wait till spring.....
