The loss of manufacturing jobs, or any jobs for that matter, is a two way street. Being an employer is a legal minefield even in the service industry. I have read some very unflattering comments about the the graduates of public schools over the last ten years--I won't repeat them here--I think the charges are overdone. However, my experience has been that math skills and writing skills are weaker in younger workers. That situation can be remedied; however, the legal black cloud is an ever present pain in the rear end. I'm not taking sides with the big boys, but these are just some observations from a small employer's viewpoint /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.
