I have been following this on the News. It's a mess. The Forestry Service has publically stated that they are running out of funds.

Our district has multiple engines out on Strike Teams to the fire by Yosemite(Rim fire). I don't think we have anything on the American fire(near foresthill, ca).

the sad part is, the worst of fire season is usually October...

It's been a little dry out West we sure could use some rain. Been kind of a not so good monsoon season here in Arizona this year. GOOD LUCK to all the fire fighters out on the lines.

I don't know if they are "the worst ever" but they do have a lot more people and infrastructure to run into now. In that sense, they are worse impact-wise than they used to be for sure. Could be a moot discussion if your house is burning.

The West faces some real challenges with water management, forestry, unsupportable sprawl, and more people keep showing up everyday. Failing to plan is planning to fail.
