What you say makes perfect sense! But how common is that individual?[

Much more common at trade and technical schools than full degree colleges and universities, much more. And the best part is many of those tech. schools do not require full education degrees to become instructors

An interesting old post I just came across that sheds a little light on things.
Rick

Rick, thanks for the link I was just going to complement FWJ on actually having an actual discussion, but now I guess he is pretty much full of him self all along and just looking for a fight. I'm sure he wanted to go to school as well.
Back to the original content, RD Mcgregor in post 101 makes a great point. Most Americans believe the cans of corn come from the grocery store, and would not pay any attention to the label. Why would a company fight to not have this, as cost wise it would be pennies on the dollar to relabel, and as the studies show even when McDonalds puts out calorie counts for a big Mac and most pay no attention to the contents. The Europeans seem to be a little more on the ball.
And as far as the technology I read in an earlier link that gmo seed production got cranked up around 93. I think we have another generation or two to go before we really discover if there are any long term effects. In the mean time I will go with the old axiom "you are what you eat"

Exactly :( But, don't try telling that to FWJ; He's already 1,000% positive we'll all be fine, maybe even better than fine!

And ... Exactly :(

We are the guinea pig generation on so many levels.
The number one goal is corporate profit.
Take you pick, big pharma, agribuisness, the oil companies, telecommunications, they are all built on the same buisness model profit above everything else.
The sad part is that there are ignorant people that defend them no matter how badly they screw us.
The gap between the have's and the rest of us continues to widen.
Yet these people continue to defend the corporate model that in the end may very well be the end of the world as we know it.
If ignorance is bliss there must be alot of very happy people out there.

I will guarantee that an uninformed inoccent bystander trying to gather information will know nothing more than he started with by the time you finish reading a thread like this with 2 opposing camps with opposite views both trying to win the debate .The title to this thread says it all talk about the fox guarding the chicken coop .BUT every comment here has a slanted opinion both fore and against ,Glyphosate is probably one of the most important tools since the invention of the tractor and it is also as frightening as Thalidimide.

MY!....I have not read all of this thread.....but there sure seems to be allot of groupie haters here. There was a time this was not so prevalent on TBN. Personally I admire many of FWJ's viewpoints and he typically has his facts in order.

He's not always right....none of us are. But....you may want to put your big-boy pants on....if you feel like challenging his viewpoint. My 64 years of experience tell me that he has done his homework. ;)

Seems to me there are lots of loose-cannons here....that think they know something about agriculture and feeding the world....just because they read a paragraph on the web.....or, own a CUT.:laughing:

In the army those boys were called 90 day wonders. Give 'em ell FWJ!!

Gee!...more 'MON' shareholders come out of the closet trying to sound objective

And, I suspect some will even try to contradict with even more "objective" rhetoric :D
