the worth of my jd1050 4wd

i have about 2000 hrs on my jd 1050 4wd. the engine has been rebuilt. i bought the tractor with about 900 hrs on it in the early 90s when it was about 3 years old. i used it to pull 6 foot attachments including a 6 foot bushhog in the woods and a 2018 disk harrow. i have been told i wore it out- hence the rebuild. i also threw a rod out the side of the block. the block has been welded and holding fine and running great since the rebuild - less than 50 hrs.
i want to sell it and get a used 5000 series utility (not 03 or 05, but 10,20 or 25 model) or a mahindra 6000 or 6500. i feel the deeres and mahindras are the best on the market for ruggedness. i have some light clearing to do and i need a loader and a grapple.


what should i ask for my tractor for a straight sell out or as a trade? what should i get for it (and be nice)? it has been a great tractor.

Deere has used equipment listed at http://www.machinefinder.com I would start there and look at similar machines. (1050, 1070, 950, etc) eBay usually will have something, especially try the 'completed listings' option in Advanced Search.

You can find equipment locally and all over. Bear in mind that the prices are dealer asking prices and may not be realistic. Maybe trying to 'buy' one will get you the real price.

Of course, selling it yourself is likely to do far better than a trade. Especially with someone like you that seems to really understand their equipment. TBN has a classified section, why not get it listed there?

But it never hurts to get bids from dealers, too. Sometimes they really need to move a piece and all bets are off as to the deal you can get!
