It may have been discussed before but......any good ideas on how to make a 2320 difficult to take on a joy ride? Tractor parked in semi wooded area up the drive, chained gate at the main road.

What can be removed (besides the key of course) or overridden in the ignition or fuel system.

Thanks in advance

Take out the relay that activates the fuel solenoid. No fuel - no start - no joy ride.

I've got to think that turning the wheel all the way to one side and chaining it that way is an important ingredient. At least they can only go in circles then.

If it is simple joy riders only then disconnecting the battery may make it not worth their while but that won't stop a determined thief.

Unless it will sit for long periods of time, the battery is too heavy to lug back and forth. You don't want to be pulling parts off the engine that leave openings to the outside.

You could see if something like the Kubota anti-theft system and registered key that they introduced on the KX080-3 are available as parts and could be fitted to the MF. Kubota Tractor Corporation - Company News Probably need to check with a dealer on this one as it isn't the kind of maintenance or repair part listed in the online parts quick reference.

How about putting a connector in the fuel pump electric line? Or better yet, two connectors so that you can take a link of the wire with you and it's now too short to connect.
Will one of those car steering wheel theft protectors work?

Bury bear traps all around the tractor.
This way you'll also know who was trying to take the tractor. :D

Could you tap into the seat safety switch & wire a kill-switch under the seat or in some other hidden place?

We usually tell the customer just take the fuse out of the ingition slot on the fuse block. Not many people look there and it's easy to get to and reisert. But... on the other hand that bear trap sound awsome!:D

My insurance agent has me covered for theft off my property, but if you have one particular spot where you keep it...maybe you can dig a decent sized bell shaped hole, fill with concrete, sink an oversized heavy eye bolt or chain (one that is too big for a bolt cutter) in the mix. Park the tractor over this spot and wrap the chain around the axle with a large padlock. Locate the padlock in a tight area where it can't be messed with. I can't see anyone getting the tractor freed as the tractor is over the ground anchor and cannot be tampered with using tools unless they bring an acetylene torch or power and a grinder. It's an idea...maybe it would be too much trouble to free it.
