One thing I like about Kubota is: Kubota Corp takes an interest in what their dealers are doing, JD does not seem to care at all what their dealers are doing. That is my personal experience.

It would do me no long term good to complain to or about this dealer to Kubota because I intend to keep it a long time. I love it.
I may have no choice but use them again or transport it 40 miles up the road. I don't thinks one complaint would change their culture anyway.
Karma!!!!

Having worked in two different dealers for 12 years of my career, one that was Kubota only, and one that was Kubota and New Holland, both about 6 years each. The first dealer that was Kubota only was very customer oriented. The owner was the primary salesman and a very good one at that. He believed that the shop should be a profit center and not just a necessary evil. He made sure I kept the shop clean and when the customer commented us on my service work or cleanliness he always brought them to the shop and made sure they knew I was the one doing the work.

The second dealer was sales oriented. The shop was a necessary evil whose primary function was sales support. In twenty years, the only year the shop made money was the last. When I went to work there the standard phone response by the service manager was it will be 3 weeks before we can get to it. It so happens that the only year the shop was profitable was when another mechanic and I ran the shop, our response, was bring it in and we will take a look at it. The boss hated our overtime but couldn't be too upset since we were making money. I was also the first mechanic to get a letter from a customer commending my work. I had gotten a few at the previous dealer, I was surprised to find out I was the first in twenty years.

So the problem in my eyes goes as high as the ownership. They set the tone for the rest of the dealership.

I have decided that when I shop for something new, car, truck, lawnmower, tractor, boat.etc.... I assume that I have no warranty on minor stuff... unless the engine explodes, I just fix everything else myself. By the time I haul it in, it sits for a week or two, they half-way fix it, break something else in the process, then say that particular part isnt covered under warranty....etc... It just saves me the aggrevation....
I WILL say though,I have the utmost faith in the sales, service, and parts departments of Bagley Tractor where I purchased my Bota... I cannot say the same for the local Ford dealership, Dodge dealership, or ANY atv dealership Ive ever stepped foot inside.
Someone else said it correctly, shop the service department B4 buying....

Same with any sales org. Leadership sets the tone. Good leaders and the troops will follow them to the ends of the earth and are happy to be there every day. Bad leaders, and the whole org. hates to come to work, and everyone has a sour attitude and the customer suffers.

Mostly true. There are always a few exceptions but mostly true. Starts at the top if one can find the true top. Some times there are several layers to the true top.
