The eagles are no different than you or I if we were thrown into a wilderness without food, we would all eat whatever we could catch. It doesn't bother me a bit that they eat a cat, actually more power to them. I really hate cats mainly because they are fond of walking all over freshly washed (or not) cars, tractors especially the seat if I forget to turn it up. Also (if you keep one in the house) they tear up curtains and any other upholstered furniture AND they rarely respond to commands like a dog would. Can you guess that I am a dog person? I can tolerate other folks cats but don't even think of dropping a stray off at my house. Of course they do make good play partners for my German Shepherd although he does tend to play rough with a cat.

I wish I did have bald eagles around our parts. All we have here are buzzards, but they are my poor man eagles. They are very graceful as they fly around the ranch and they pick up my dead squirrels as they accumulate.

I was fly fishing the snake river a few years ago and had just released a fish I caught. The fish was 3 or 4 feet away from me heading down stream catching it's breath and wham, out of nowhere, an eagle snatched it out if the river. Most amazing thing I've ever experienced.
