You know, the funny thing is... all the media was saying this is it for Butch. You just gave up 58 points. BUT, we did score 48. I feel it should have just been called a loss since neither team brought their defense.
So what's wrong with the Bengals? Did they overachieve last year like Dallas did?

All coaches go through the cycle where it just doesn't work anymore. Davis seemed to have the road end on him and he did the right thing. Spurrier was a great coach in college but in the NFL he stunk. Look at Pete Carroll at USC. He couldn't do that in the NFL and he's #1 in the college ranks now.

The Bengals have had growing pains for 14 years. The difference is, the first 12 years were Mike Brown's wallet's growing pains. Now, they have a new coach and a lot of new players, so that takes a little time before some chemistry develops (and it seems to be slowly developing). That said, looks like yet another non-winning, playoff-free season for us down in Cincy. College B-ball, anyone?

Gotta love Big Ben Roethlisburger. He's from my alma mater, don'tcha know. He's also the reason I'm gonna (gulp) root for the Steelers to go all the way.
