Went outside doing my usual check on the property. Saw this and thought it was a cool shot. Had a suspicion I'd see the fluid level in the tires since I could see the thermal difference in just the barrels as they sat outside prior to. Encouraging confirmation I got the fill levels pretty darn close.

Hmm Looks like the upload washes out the picture a bit. Oh well no matter.

Here's some others from around the place:

Nice. What brand of camera do you have? You can change what color is hot or cold? Is the second to last photo the moon?
At first I was surprised to see the truck tires as white/hot until I thought a little more that they’d warm up as you drive.

The scope is a Pulsar Talion XQ35Pro. The best feature of this scope is temperature sensitivity and clarity of image in long and short distances. I also notice humidity has a large affect on image quality. The settings are easy to adjust on fly, so what worked great one night will get adjusted the next. And yes, that is an image of the moon. It blew my mind the first time I discovered I could see it. I mean makes sense, temperature difference. But it was more of the fact the scope was picking up that temperature difference over that distance. Conversely, the scope won't show an image of a cat on the porch through the window at 10', but it can see the moon? Crazy.

The tractor tires, moon and longhorns are black hot. The rest are white hot. Those two are my referred. I switch them depending on the ambient temp. I tried the colored hots but it's weird. With the white and black hots I can fine tune the image where I can see feature details of what I'm looking at. I'm not great at doing that with the color hots.

Pretty cool. My mom bought me a thermal camera. I have played around with it a little. I can see I gotta play more... Hmm. Wonder if it will pick up turkeys on the roosts? 😁

I will have to read up on the model (gotta find it again, to look up what it is) see what uses I can get with it.

That's actually how I verified the fill level in my tires, when I got it back from the dealer:

They were supposed to give me 60% fill on each side, and billed accordingly, but clearly missed that mark on both. But since hauling the tractor to the dealer and waiting on their service is more a PITA than it's worth, I never actually bothered having them correct it.
