I'm guilty of a paragraph and could have been two or three even. but I at least tried to keep it separate for frugalangler and simple. And only misspelled one word. Imagine that!!!

and my simple mind appreciates - TS is an interesting concept, albeit primitive but it works!.

I have a Yanmar 336. It is a bit hard to start in the cold even when one turns the key counterclockwise to preheat the fuel. Is the thermostart available for my tractor? It does have a plug to heat the block but I have no electricity at the farm to use it. I have a battery pack that might help but the thermostart would be much faster.

If you don't have a thermostart module in the intake manifold (looks like a spark plug) then turning the key counterclockwise does nothing. If you find a blind plug there, installing a thermostart module and its related fuel reservoir is simple. Buy the parts from Hoye. (See post #6 above).

Or if the components are there but the manifold doesn't feel warm after turning the key left, first verify that electricity is getting to the module when the key is turned. More likely you need a replacement module. They aren't expensive. Tractor Supply, Ebay, or Hoye.

Thermostart module: I think there are only two versions, screw terminal and slip-on connector, easily interchangeable.

As good as Thermostart does work. Still doesn稚 beat using a block heater .
