Last night my Kioti dealer picked up my broken Kioti and hauled it to the shop. I broke something in the power takeoff, because it makes terrible grinding noises when the tractor is running. I don't know the extent of the damage yet but think my mastercard will be melting soon. The warranty expired one month ago. The dealer said he would try to get Kioti to eat the parts, but he was not sure. My fingers are crossed. Does everyone but me have their sweet corn in the ground?

Sorry to hear about the issue with your tractor. Hopefully Kioti will stretch a bit and take care of you. I live in S IN, and I don't have my sweet corn in because the ground has been too wet where I put my garden. We had another 1 1/2" of rain yesterday!

We only got an inch of rain yesterday, my sweet corn seed hasn't even gotten here yet! But the reality is my field was too wet to plant before yesterday's rain. I'm at the north end of Indiana and there is still no planting activity in the fields yet. Saturday and Sunday there was a good deal of burning the chaff off the fields by the real farmers around my property. That is always a site, especially when they burn the fields at night.

As for the tractor problem, hopefully it is something as easy as a broken gear at the PTO and the dealer can get you up and running in a few days.

What type job were you doing when the part broke?--Ken Sweet

Rototilling clay soil, when I heard a clunk, and the rototiller stopped spinning. I took it off and then heard the noise coming from the power takeoff. I had finished plowing the day before, with a plow I picked up from your place last week.

Your tiller have a slip clutch? If so, apparently it wasn't set soft enough to slip when you hit something.
Sorry to hear that, but the part shouldn't be very expensive, and depending on when you bought it, and which model, there may be a third year parts warranty coverage on it.
Best of luck, John

It is back. They brought it back last night. They didn't have a bill made up yet, so I don't know the hit, but James told me it wasn't too bad. They replaced some bearings(sp). The sun is up and I am just on my way out the door. Life without my tractor was hard.

Glad you have it back for the weekend. Hopefully your troubles are over with and that you don't get sticker shock when you get the bill.
