Think tank advice

Nice job! Have you tried it yet with the trailer loaded, and on soft ground? I'm just wondering if the anti-bottoming legs on the ramps where your square tube pushes from will get stuck in the mud. I hope your back is going to be good when you're done with surgery - it's sure a drag when they go out.

I can't tell if your trailer has stake pocket from the picture.
If it were me, I would make a stiff leg with a roller on one end a pocket near the front side of the tail light bracket for the stiffleg to fit in. A comealong secured to the frame behind the fender with the line up over the roller on the stiffleg out about a third of the way down the ramp should give you the leverage to do the job. I would imagine that one about 3ft should do it.
I woldn't hook anything to those fenders as they is barely enough steel in them to keep them on the trailer and off the tires, at least that has been my obervation on the trailers I have seen made by commercial vendors.
Good luck on your upcoming surgery.

"..Now for making them adjust for different width vehicles..."

Not sure how much weight you can lift with that setup but why don't you fill in the ramp? Connect the left and right ramp (weld together with braces) and make the 2 ramps into one full width ramp or to save weight, just make each ramp a foot or so wider? Just a thought...

Thanks for the kind remarks guys.
Jimmysisson, I haven't tried it out yet but everything I have added is above the anti-bottoming leg on the ramps except where the cylinder attaches.I still need to come up with something on the order of a snow plow skid shoe (2) on the bottom of the trailer proper because backing it in the other day the bracket where the cylinder attaches scraped.Got about 13 in clearance on flat ground, stock was 16 in.The tag always dragged backing in the building there's a bit of a hill coming down to the entrance.I just need a contact bumper of some type before it hits.I saw some 12'' wide boat rollers and brackets that might do the trick.
Teg, I have the ramps so they DO adjust all the way in and out. That took some figuring out.Almost started drinking again over that.Big od square tube on ramps, small od tube on lift. They slide all the way over.I am sure it will lift a solid ramp and I did ponder that until a neighbor asked why I was building a big "air brake" for the back of the trailer.
