Buying Advice Thinking about a 1025r

Unless they changed some things this model year...One of the sticklers with the 1026 was that the 3rd hydraulic function, could not coexist with the power beyond option (needed for the back hoe). You might be well served by using the independant lift with one of your loader functions at first, then go with a kit from Fit-Rite to install better rear hydraulics that preserve the power beyond.
The factory rear SCV would work fine for a grapple...a very light one.
If you go over to GTT, there are quite a few 1026 owners that could give you more insight on the different deck lifts.

I wouldn't have wanted anything less than a 60" or 62" on my 2210 or 2305. I know others may love there 54" but IMO the 60-62" is a perfect match. It helps get a tad closer to landscaping and under trees. These things a mowing machines with that deck! Best wishes...

In addition to the other suggestions, you should see if you can get a new 1026R instead of the newer 1025. Almost the same SCUT, with the exception of the fuel filler cap color, the configuration of the lights mounted on the ROPS, and the most important issue of the 1025 having the engine detuned to meet new regulations. My dealer suggested the 1026 over the 1025 because of the 1025's detuned engine. They continue to receive numerous complaints about the the newer 1025 engines and have some already coming back. I was lucky to get one of the last 1026Rs they were allotted and was able to have a second one held for me until .. you guessed it .. a backhoe for it arrives next month! See if your dealer can get you a 1026R, and go with the 60" deck!
