Thinking about purchasing a new F3990

I am seriously considering purchasing a new F3990 and came across the thread where it and the B3350 are having regen problems. Now I don't know if I should just get the smaller F2690. Have these problems been fixed or should I get the smaller unit? I have about 3 acres to mow and want the 72" deck. What would you recommend?

I have owned/used a F2680e (2wd) with a 72" deck on more than 3 acres for years with no issues. I also have owned 2 and still own one F3080 (4wd) with 72" decks for 7 years on about 5+ acres of steep hillside and woods trails with no power issues or lack of power issues. Some of my fellow F owners over in the Kubota Lawn and Garden forum have bought the higher HP Fs but not sure they ever tried the 26 or 30 hp models. Read their reviews over there and find out more info on F models from actual owners.
PS I think the new 29 hp is the same model and actual HP as the previous 30 hp model with an advertised drop below 30 hp to meet some emissions "stuff" or not have to meet emissions "stuff" under 30 hp..

I would also. Looks like a deal. Would have sold for around $24000 to $26000 plus snow blade.

The F3930 seems like a very expensive machine if you will only be mowing 3 acres. If money is not a concern then I guess it would be fun to have.

Sorry to not get back with you guys. I've been working nights. I'm signing the papers on a new F2690 with a 72" rear discharge deck on Tuesday. I just moved into my new house and the new grass will need to be cut soon so I hope it doesn't take too long for the mover to arrive. They will be ordering it form the Ft. Worth warehouse as the two closest dealers don't have an F series on their lots.

Congratulations! You'll love it, especially with the rear discharge deck. Sure you'll never feel it is underpowered.

It's scheduled to be delivered tomorrow and boy do I really need to mow the grass! The newly planted grass around the house is about 8-10" tall and the older stuff is 18-24". I'll cut it high and cut it lower a few days later. I'll post pictures tomorrow. I can't wait!
