I am considering selling my 2006 John Deere 3520 cab tractor. It has under 130 easy hours on it, and is in mint condition. I have washed, lubed, even waxed the tractor on a regular basis. All maintenance has been completed on or before scheduled. Can you guys help me determine a price for selling, and let me know if you think ebay would be a viable way to sell it, or if there is a better market than the local paper.

Here is a list of the options:

JD 3520 cab tractor
JD 300cx loader with heavy duty quick tach bucket
larger R-4 tires
JD radio cd weather
Wheel spacer's that add an additional 1 foot of width to the rear
JD lx6 6 foot rotary cutter
JD 72" MMM 7 iron
located in Kansas City Mo.
All equipment is difficult to tell from new

Sorry for the length, but would appreciate any help. Also, should I seperate out any of the attachments, or the spacers?

thanks in advance

I have always owned and operated Kubota equipment, and when it comes to a cab tractor, I think John Deere is the only way to go. I also liked the resale (we will see) value that JD seems to have. Other than that I really like the Kubota brand a little better. I also do not like being in the cab all that well. When I am mowing, or running my tractor, I like to use that as my personal time. With the cab tractor I find myself using my cel phone for work purposes, or even just friendly conversation during a time that I have always used as time to relax and call it ME time. Also, I work inside about 60 hours a week, and when I have the chance I like to be outside.
Again, I am THINKING about selling this tractor. I have not really made up my mind yet, and I am just curiouse what you all think the market will bring. If it seems like it might bring a good sum of money, it would not hurt me to liquidate a few toys.
On the flip side, I can only imagine how much I will miss the comfort of the cab on the first snow storm. I don't mind being hot, but I hate to be cold.

I'd be happy to cruise the few miles up highway 169 and swap you my open station 3520 for you cab model. ;)

Don't know what it's worth, but I can tell you that, having just come in from doing some pasture mowing, I'd sure like to have a cab! It's not the heat (98+ degrees today) but the dust & grass... I'm covered in it! :)

I'd put it on consignment at the dealer you bought it from.
More visibility there and people who frequent tractor dealers are normally looking to buy (less tire kickers to waste your time).

The dealer will want 5%-10% of the sale price...but that's negotiable.

However, I think you'll take a pretty good loss.

Keep your cell turned off and the air also. Then enjoy the tractor. You will loose money selling a near new tractor. Most people will spend a few thousand more to get brand new. I sold a gator with only 5 hours on it and 3 months old and lost close to a thousand. JC

I have the open station 3520 myself and sure wish I had got the cab. I wouldn't mind trading myself. That's the one thing I wish I had went ahead and sprung for. I would think you could contact a local dealer and get an idea on the value of the machine.

Thanks for the tips, I am sure you are right about taking that "turn the key" depreciation.

There is NO WAY I would be without a cab, period.

Like others have said, it’s not a luxury item as much as it’s a necessity. The dust, weeds, heat, cold in the winter, rain etc. etc.

I almost lost an eye once when I was in a bunch of mesquite I stopped turned to my right and a thorn the size of a dagger was a fraction of an inch from my eye.

There’s nothing wrong with being warm when it’s freezing and cool when temps reach 100.

If you want the “outside feeling” take off your doors, TURN OFF THE PHONE but stay with the cab.
