Seems like everyone feels like it would be a mistake to sell the cab tractor in favor of an open station. It is hard to dispute such overwhelming opinion, and I think there must be something to that.
Thank you for all of the responses, and the helpful link to pricing.

Yup! I think you need to be put in a straight jacket, and placed in a small padded room for awhile..... (if you give up a John Deere Cab Tractor for An Open Station Tractor)...

Once you have an awesome cab like the JD, I find it very hard to ever want to go back to an open station tractor.

Like the others have said, it's not only full comfort in any temperature or type of percipitation.... It keeps you nice and clean, and dry, and you don't have to worry about getting whipped, or covered in ragweed and dust and dirt. You may save an eye, won't get stung by wasps etc. etc. etc.

And if deciding to get a Backhoe is the issue, WoodsOnline.com now has everything you need to put on an awesome backhoe on a cab tractor. Woods GroundBreaker Backhoes are awesome! I wouldn't mind having that at all! I'd take either the JD448, or the Woods Groundbreaker.

It's not the selling to buy another tractor. It's selling and losing more money then you want to.
This is strictly my opinion based upon a few studies of used Deeres. Once the tractor is about 5 years old, the depreciation levels off and a sale or trade may be worth while. This is also due (IMHO) to the tendency of tractor prices to rise and used tractor prices to rise right along with them.
I looked at a used 855 that was priced almost exactly what it cost new (in the early 90's). The same applies to many 1990's Deere CUTs. Now, that's a subjective study with a dash of statistics thrown in.
So...you want to buy a tractor? Well, give it some good thought because if it's not the right fit, you'll lose your butt if you try to sell too soon after purchase.
