I think it will work fine. You will probably need a Pto driven pump matched to the hydraulic motor. Keep in mind a cutter has a lot of inertia. Be at idle when you engage Or disengage PTO. A bi directional relief valve across the hoses relieves pressure spikes caused by starts and stops.


1 GPM at 2000 psi = 1.17 horsepower.

If you have 30 PTO horsepower you could pump 25 GPM at 2000 psi. If so you would size the pump and motor for 25 GPM at 540 RPM, and size the hose to have a fluid velocity less than 20 ft/second. The fluid will get hot. If it gets too hot you will need a cooler to prevent fluid damage or fire.

A cutting in front of a skid steer is very effective, but most skidsteer are not high flow.
