Thinking of changing R4 over to R1

I think it all depends on the tire options. Sometimes the t4 set are shorter, and not much wider. I think that don't make a tractor look any bigger.

On my MX, seeing one on the lot with the huge 12-16.5 44th fronts sitting next to one with 9.5-16 ags.....those r4's looked mean. The grandL's use 10-16.5's. those don't look nearly as mean at all

That is probably a good price. Now finding someone to buy will be the problem. I think most folks would be in the same situation as you are since most CUTs come with R4 tires. Most utility tractors come with R1.
So....the rule of the market is: they're only worth what someone is willing to pay, and it's a buyers market. ....Unless they're worth more to you, then you get to keep them.

You have to admit that R4 tires just look more "Boss" than R1 tires even if they aren't up to any work in mud.
Not picking on you Gary, but I have to disagree with this too! (IMHO) :2cents:

If it's traction you after go with the R1 they will do better than R 4 with chains with the exception of ice ,
