Thinking of Purchasing Ford F-150 - Some Questions

Yeah, I don't think the towing mileage is going to be anything to brag about. Which is fine with me as I don't do more than a few towing trips a month perhaps 50-100 miles.

I would say that 2-3 mpg more than my Silverado 5.3 is about right at this point, although I have seen as low as 14 mpg around town and as high as 23 mpg on the hwy. On the trip home from the dealer at highway speeds 75+ mph it avg. 19 mpg, which is about 2 more than my 5.3L would have gotten. Last year we went on a 200 mile trip and went 55-65 on the hwy (my buddy was pulling a camper) and the silverado avg. high 18's. I was very pleased. I would expect this truck to avg. about 20+ at those same speeds.

Not to mention the much improved power available when needed.

You couldn't squeak out another tenth? Impressive numbers. What are your trip details. Looks like possible 65 mph interstate driving with the 58 mph trip average.

I really tried to get another tenth but I wanted to get home rather than baby it to see if I could make it. I drove it like I wasn't paying attention to mpg. We did 70 - 75 on the interstates and some driving in town when we were there. I actually got 21.3 on the way there but definitely worse on the way back.

My father has a 2011 F-150 4x4 Super Crew Eco Boost with 3.73 gears. I drove it once and set the cruise at 59mph and got about 24 mpg over a trip out and back.
