Tractor
new holland 1620 (broken) :/ 200? Tc30
I’m looking at adding a hydraulic chute rotator to a 3pt snowblower on my JD 4210. Does anyone know of an aftermarket (manual) third function kit that is comparable to oem at maybe a better price point?
And am I correct in thinking that there’s no good way to tap into the power beyond ports for the backhoe to serve this purpose?

Does the tractor have rear remotes and if so how many? Are you using any rear remotes for other functions now? If so an electric/hydraulic diverter valve would allow two functions from one remote.

I can't answer regarding the backhoe question.

Need to confirm what tractor we are talking about?

No rear remotes. My preference is for a manual control, no electric/hydraulic.

With open center hydraulics you can theoretically string as many power beyond ports in series as you want, letting the power beyond port from one control valve feed the input to the next one. Each one eats up a little more power and moves a little slower. But that might not matter for a rotator.

An easier way to do what yo want to put a manual or electric diverter valve in the line from the existing PB port to the backhoe. Then actuate the diverter valve to select either the backhoe or the rotator.

Assuming he has an FEL....

He could also use a diverter in the curl function of his FEL. Divert to the rotator when needed. Just going to require longer hoses since he doesn't have rear remotes.

Not knowing how his backhoe is plumbed, I assume it has one rather large coupler/hose? If he diverts that high volume circuit to his rotator it may be lightning fast.

I'm afraid the cost of diverting the hoe circuit may be more expensive than diverting the FEL circuit?? Thoughts being he'll have to buy the fittings to tap the hoe line. He'll have to buy a control valve?

The gain of diverting an FEL circuit is he'll be able to always use it. Whereas, diverting the hoe circuit will only serve the rotator.

Don't get confused and assume we are talking about a complicated electric motor/hydraulic pump setup. We are simply talking about an electric operated hydraulic valve. Push the button and the function diverts to the rotator. Release the button and the function reverts back to it's original purpose. Such as the curl function on the FEL.

Summit makes a generic true 3rd function kit that has a quality loader knob with switches. You'll need to adapt the brackets and buy hoses. It's around $500 depending on options.

Also read this thread, pretty much the same setup you have:
