Well - last night, another night with TV reruns, I sat down with the owners manual and read it front to back. I had the control panel right here in front of me - so I could try each of the various options. A person could become a real weather geek with this system. I kind of feel bad realizing that I will only use, at most, about a quarter of the available calculation/display options. The Weather Tracker software will definitely be all I need for quite a while.

And I did purchase the Weather Tracker software package.

Yes - its just what I need. Its not the biggest nor the fastest but its pretty stout. All the equipment & the printer, out of the pic, are backed up and protected by APC power supply. Only down side - my internet provider is satellite and at times the stormy weather slows things down. However, it VERY SELDOM completely shuts the system down. Out here its either a satellite provider or if you have land line phone, which I do not, then its dial up.

About 98% of all my communications is via email. My poor 'ol cell phone is a very poor second choice for communication. On a good day - standing out on my porch - I might get two bar signal strength. I certainly know the agony of a cell phone call being dropped. For important cell phone calls - I drive ten miles into Cheney where I get five bars signal strength.

There might be a slight problem here. I purchased the 3rd party weather software package - Weather Tracker - three days ago and have yet to receive the registration code. I'm still running Weather Tracker on its thirty day tryout. Results will follow.

Well - crud, its been five days now and even though I really like Weather Tracker software - I dumped it. I could not get thru via email or phone to get the registration number I had paid for. That is really unfortunate - I liked and could actually manipulate that program.

I downloaded Weather Cat 3 and will see how it works.
