, I spend a good bit of time reviewing the thead on forks yesterday and looking at all the pictures ... great info!!

Two quick questions on yours, what size tube did you use for them, and how far in front of the bucket do they go?

thanks, Andrew

Banjo ( hello Canada!) I used 2"x4" x 1/4" steel tubing with 1/4 stainless steel plate welded to the end, and I believe they are 30" long past the bucket. Here they are working!

Great, just what I need to know. Thanks.

I'll need to do some scrounging for the tube. I have some 2x2x.25 "in stock", maybe I'll whip up some light ones to get going.

banjo: You can always weld them together and it would be even stronger!

Mansker,

They look real good and a nice advantage is that you can use them without having to take your toothbar off. With my clamp on forks, I have to take the toothbar off, and while that is a simple job, it still is a job to be done twice(once off, then back on) when I want to use my forks.

I may build a set similar to yours at some point in the future...along with a light duty grapple...and...and... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks for posting the pictures!

Thanks Henro! I got the idea from Jinman's forks but his looked a little too long for my purpose, I also am almost done with project 4 or 5 that I got from you on your FOPS ! TBN has sure helped me with good ideas and good people. Here they are painted to match!

Mansker, Nice job. I've been thinking about a set of forks, maybe the log bucking style too, but I don't have the material scrounged yet. I didn't realize that the clamp on style wouldn't fit over a toothbar, now I'll have to build mine!
Just another reminder how useful TBN is /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
