I recently purchased a third SCV kit and installed it. Everything went reasonably well until I got to the "rubber" handle for the control lever. It looks like it is supposed to just slip on, but no matter how hard I try, I cannot get it to seat past the first "hook". Any ideas, or others experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try putting some soapy water on the handle and in the rubber, put on as far as you can, them tap it on with a peice of wood...

Worth a try:D

I've found the WD40 route to be the best on motorcycle grips. No long term negative effects and makes things real slippery. Dunking the rubber piece in hot (near boiling) water for a few minutes helps too. Don't burn yourself.

Is the third SCV also called the "Power Beyond" kit, or what function does it serve?

More thoughts, could you have trapped air in the end ?
Stick a straight pin in the top to make a tiny hole.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried the WD40 and it didn't seem to make any difference. I thought about the air being trapped but the rubber/plastic is to hard to put a pin through. I would probably have to drill a hole and I can't believe that would be necessary. I will try the hot water next with a little soap.
