Third SCV

I did not get the third SCV when I bought my 3520 and now want/need one.

Is this something I can add on or is it better to let the dealer install it? The picture in JD parts shows a kit but that is only a lever, pins, pipe couplings, and hoses with female connectors. It doesn't show where to connect the lever. Is the control valve already on my tractor or is that a separate purchase?

Any info would be helpful.

Your tractor already has the "valve", the kit is just the lines and lever as you already guessed, if you have a moderated level of mechanical ability then you should do it yourself IMHO /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I added the 3rd SCV to my 3320 a couple of months ago. I consider myself mechanically inclined and all that, I always do my own car repairs. But I found it to be a major PITA that I probably wouldn't do again. The instructions are real basic, so if you don't have a service manual (I don't) you'll have to figure out the "hows" on your own. Removing the one piece plastic cover under the seat was a real treat. You have to remove all the lever handles and then wrestle the thing off. Feels a lot like removing the dashboard on a car. But the part that almost drove me over the edge was figuring out how to weave the hydraulic lines through through all the other hydraulic lines, to the valve. Remember the Rubic's cube?? I tried dozens of sequences before I got the things in. I found that these compact tractors are more like working on a car than a tractor...everything is tight! Took me several hours of aggravation. But hey, I saved a few bucks. Anyone else find this to be tricky or is it just me?
