Third valve??

New guy here. Does anyone know if there is a third valve kit on the market for Cub/Yanmar tractors? I would like to add an angle capability to a snow blade or a thumb for the hoe. Any suggestions or first hand knowledge if this is doable? Or possibly who would manufacture or sell if available?

If you have an open center hyd circuit, then you should be able to install a valve in series with the flow and control a thumb or whatever.

A simple low GPM valve like this might work.

It is an open center system. I've given thought to an electric solenoid so I could just add a button to the existing control but not sure yet. Time is limited for experimenting so I was hoping for a kit that includes all parts. The valve you mentioned is a thought if I can't find a kit. Not sure how it will work out but it just seems that an extra circuit would be better.

Here is a 3rd function valve and subplate depending on your pump GPM flow for cyl operation.

Open center solenoid valve with 10 GPM flow and the subplate. All ports 3000 psi.

12 VDC 10 GPM OC DA SOLENOID VALVE

1 STATION DO3 SUBPLATE OPEN CENTER

There is a different solenoid valve for a hyd motor.

Ken, do you know how close your system is to a John Deere? Kens Bolt on Grab Hooks has a very good price on a system for the JD models.

No idea but I will try to find out. In my mind it should be so easy to find a kit that has everything I need. Unfortunately I have not happened across it yet. Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part. I'll check the link.

A 3rd function valve is just another valve to control a cyl or motor. You could have one, two or three of these valves in a circuit, or you could have three valves in a block joined together.

The valve you are looking for is simply a solenoid valve designed to control a cyl.

You select the valve based on the GPM flow, port size and functionally.

Most of the valves sold are very similar, and the add on parts fit a certain tractor.

Any valve that meets your specs as to GPM, port size, etc that will control a cyl will work.

You simply add the hoses, fittings and wiring and switches to make it work.

It would be installed in series with the flow path after the loader valve.

Think about what you are asking for. You want a company to either purchase or rent every tractor that there is so that they can produce a nice clean 100% complete 3rd function kit that they might sell a few kits for. Simply is not cost effective even if it were possible. For a few of the most popular models I could see this being done by larger companies.

Other than that, either the order needs to be done with input from the customer up front or a 2 stage process as others might do.

The tractor side is VERY close to JD, but the FEL is completely different I think. A diverter setup would be the easiest to install, and probably the cheapest as well.

Yanmar, does show a optional third function for there LX hydro units. Try googling Yanmar third function , should give you some ideas.
