Depending on where you live, will affect the price. Some dealers are less likely to discount so much. I don't think they can get all the tractors they want right now.

I think down here I was quoted about $27400 for the tractor and FEL only.

I hope this a far price for tractor, loader, and backhoe. I've been dealing with this dealer for other pieces of equipment in
the past.

The dealer did tell me that he would like to make around 8 to
8 1/2 percent on a tractor deal.

I have a '01 4700 tractor, 460 loader, and 48 backhoe I would like to sell or trade in.

The dealer said he would only give me around $18,000 for the
set up. I hope to sell the my use equipment for $23,000.

Is this some far prices?

Thanks
Les

For nearly the same price you can get the 110 TLB and it is lot heavier tractor. the only downside is a few less HP. But you get a lot more bang for the buck. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

As was mentioned above, geography makes a big difference. Example - the northeast tends to be more expensive. Around here that would be a decent price. A 15% average discount from list is about as good as you typically can do here with Deere.

(You're at 16.4% on the tractor, 12.6% on the 400X, and 14.3% on the 448 - or just a tick under 15% combined overall (before rebates and bonuses)).

Looks like a similar 110TLB (matching bucket sizes, tires, hydraulic functions, and adding the 3-pt hitch) would price out at just a tick under $44K. At that same discount % - a net right around $37K. More strength as a TLB, less PTO/drawbar hp, and maybe less flexible/useful in 'tractor' mode.

Out of curiousity - why the move to the Twenty series? Just getting to too many hours on the 4700-based rig or have you really found yourself running into hp limitations?

You can keep your BH and put it on your new 4720. this should save you alittle.

The loader on the TLB is not quick removable. this may be a consideration.
I have used a TLB and using the loader it can not compair to my 4320. It won't come close to a 4720.
My 448 hoe is a little smaller than the TLB hoe and the construction of the TLB hoe is much more robust.
Things to consider. Decisions,decisions. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

timb,

My 2001 JD 4700 tractor has only 1000 hours on it and it has given me good service and done what I have asked of it. The 4720 this year has for the first time in JD history a John Deere engine in its compact tractors. I'm not saying the Yammar diesel is not good. I just like the fact that this new 4720 has got a JD engine, and above all it has a turbo to boot.

The new 4020 series tractors have a got a lot of good details and improve items on them.

I have for the past few years chance my tractor every 3 to 5 years to keep good equipment around.

Thanks
Les

Very close to what I paid in Texas.

For the 4720 and 400x I gave 28,500.
Mine included dual front and rear option lights / brush guards around the warning signs / r4 tires / the motion match - cruise control upgrades. dual scv and single rear remote.
load match & motion match / jd i-match quick hitch / grill guard ( i think grill guard is standard with the loader )

Pretty much everything with the exception of 4 & 5 remotes.

I wish I had gotten the t&t but easy ad on I guess.....

I hope you like yours as much as I like mine when you get it.

I also bought some other implements which may have helped me on the overall deal.......

681 tiller and 84" box blade hd /

I am not clear on what you are saying, you think the green loaders are stronger and the green backhoe is almost equivelent to that on the 110. Their was no comparison between this 110 and my 4710. Other than I miss a few more HP I can honestly say this loader is far superior than that of the 4710's I have never seen specs on the new loaders I believe they would be a little more rigid than the 460 but no more lift or rollback. The hoe's have no comparison as far as how heavy they are built or power. Please clarify what you are saying. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
