I'm not a person to take unsafe chances but it felt safe, and they predict snow over night (Laurentides- north of Montreal) By the way the fist 30 minutes I kept the door open. Thanks for the reply and check out my video Skating JD first time...

Looks like fun but be careful not all ice is the same.

Clear ice is the strongest but you can also get milky ice with air in it that is less strong or even "candle ice" that is thick but like a bunch of verticle pencils weakly bound together.

Artic natives have a hundred names for different kinds of ice including "Oh ####" ;-)

I suppose it's as safe as the pond is deep.

Yes 8 inches, and the peuple from Soucy int. told me that with the tracks, the ice could support up to 5 tons
