Those tracks are certainly sexy. I'd get a blade for the 4-wheeler, and keep the heavy iron off the ice.

F-C: In photo #6 .. do you figure he's clawing his way out, or digging deeper into a muddy bottom? The other guy is clearly going to have an unpleasant conversation with his insurance company.

Jim

He's actually made a turn and coming back off the ice. Follow the link here:

This link is a good one. You will start out with various grooming stuff, but scroll down to the bottom"grooming disasters".

But please look at Jean-guys photo gallery. The machine he has groomed trails with, my club has the same one. BUT, what this guy does is awsome. He is a **** of an operator. Of course he's from Quebec:)

Sylvainl,

If you are clearing the ice for skating and have a pump available just pile the snow around the perimeter and flood it with pond water.

When it freezes it will be smooth as a mirror.

Tracks or wheels, if the pond is not frozen right to the bottom then 6,400 lbs of tractor have to submerge 100 cubic feet of ice in fresh water to provide the 6,400 lbs of floation to support the tractor.
