Turbos have been around for a long long time and are about as dependable as any other moving part on an engine. Most all semi trucks have them, drive millions of miles without breaking. If you are anywhere up in altitude, having a turbo is a must IMO. I have 4 engines with them and no problems as of yet.

Just my :2cents:

I know turbos are reliable and been round for a while. In fact I own and operate my own truck, but I also know cost of repair (on a big truck). I agree with the high altitude part.

I'd say your dealer has probably sold a ton of the 25 series 2wd models in the past and really values a simple HD tractor with no bells and whistles. For a guy that likes no frills, yet wants 4wd, wants PS, wants a 2-stage clutch, etc...but doesn't care so much about ergonomics, extra gears etc, the 4025-4wd is perfect. Really, what is not to like? Strong, heavy, simple, dependable and reasonably priced.

However some people do not like the sticks on the transmission tunnel and prefer power-shuttle or HST and so on. For them, the 35 series, as our deluxe model, is a good unit to look at. And even though I am a fan of the 4025, you must admit that the look is more "classic". It hasn't changed in years.

As far as which one will outperfom, that depends on the test. A 5035HST will rototill better than a 4025-4wd. A 5035PST is sure a good loader tractor with the clutchless forward-reverse. Pulling a heavy disc? It's hard to beat a regular gear tractor for field work. Etc. A Jeep will beat a Ferarri if the Jeep gets to set up the race course.

I must admit well said!!!

You are probably right on with the dealer selling more 25 series.

I have been battleing with these 2 units for about 4-5 months and trying to pull the trigger on one for about 3months. The more I get set on one the more I change my mind to the other one. I believe either or is a good unit and will work for me. Buddy of mine thinks I can get by with a 30-35hp for what I need and want, but with me I believe get a bigger HP and run it easy.

I am looking for all the information I can get on these 2 units. I have planted my butt in both units and can see myself using either one. The 5035 is most comfortable and the 4025 just has the Awesome old school look. If I was to look at it cost wise buying the 4025 and spending the difference between the 2 on implements would be the way to go, but long term comfort and when I get old having to step on that 2 stage clutch maybe a pain.

Not to mess you up, but if you like the strength of the 4025, but want a shuttle I would suggest looking at the 30 series.
