I love working at Northwestern. If I could move it up the shore out of the land of thieves, I surely would!
On the toll thing, I object to the raise on many levels. What smarts most, though, is the statment by the toll director to the effect that we will have public hearings, but "no amount of public outcry will change the course of this increase." Representative government at its best. A strong reminder that there is a big difference between a democracy and a republic, and that while officially we eschew monarchs anf gentry, we regularly sanction and vote them into office. The toll people are sitting on 450 million is surplus, and work in a 50 million dollar palace in DuPage county - the wealthiest county in IL.
It's Saturday, the sun is out, and Thor awaits. I'm outta here before I get grumpy!

<font color=black>Funny thing about those tractors and dogs. I let my 6 year old Jack Russell ride on my tractor several weeks ago and now everytime I start the tractor, he starts yelping and barking until someone either takes him inside or lets him hop up on the tractor again. I'm afraid to let him continue as I don't want to take the chance of running over him some time when I'm looking at an implement or working the loader. Anyone have any ideas ?

I know what you mean. Dogs seem to love all things mechanical where they can get the snout full of air going. It is hard and your right when running one of these machines (especially with small dogs around) you have to be careful. It would break many a heart if your new best friend hurt you long standing best friend. So as long as they get along and he stays out of harms way its a good day.

The dog and I are both about the same whenever the vacume cleaner starts up.../w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
He likes to ride in the Suburban too.
I took him trout fishing with me once. Every time I picked my foot up to step from one rock to the next he was right there. I finally got ahead of him by crossing the river and going up stream a little ways. About the time I was fishing a little pool he caught up with me and came swimming across the hole...
