Thought I\'d Figured it out - NH24Da price Right?

My saga continues-read a thread around pg3 where someone was trying to decide on a NH24 or 29. Sounded like me, only I was looking at a new'03 NH33D w/20hrs (yard and shows) w/ a 7308 FEL, hydro and R-4 std axle @ $17700. Thought Bob Skurka made good point about using the smaller machine more while watching the larger one sit idle. (Check your private messages Bob) so went back to the NH dealer thinking I'll go with the 24 and end this thing. Problem is he quoted a '04 NH24Da w/12LA Fel -Hydro -R-4 for $16756. Does this sound about right? Looked at a nice '03 JD4310ehydro w/60hrs @$16500. Was disappointed in the lack of price difference of the 24 compared to the 4310 and 33. Now I'm wondering why not stay with one of the bigger machines. I feel like I'm back where I started.

I am sorry to say that with the price increase we have had since the first of the year your dealer is right in there maybe a 200-300.00 high but thats it.

If its any help I just stopped by New Holland dealer this afternoon and he had a '04 NH24Da w/12LA Fel -Hydro -R-4 with a list price of C$20000, I'm sure that would be lower if I had tried dicker. Roughly US $1=C$1.40

So are you going to do anything with the tractor purchase this weekend? I know it seems like a tough decision, and we all want the "best" tractor at the "best" price... try not to overthink it because none of the models you're looking at will let you down. Choose the better Dealer... and/or you're Wife's favorite color and go for it! Good Luck with it.

Cedarman . . . the price seems reasonab8 le based on others I've seen and given that Spencer200 is a dealer and he said its reasonable then I'd think your local guy is in the ball park.

But the real question is what do you plan on doing. Your profile said you have 75 acres but 6 to 8 that are clear. With 75 acres you could easily go BIG and be happy, but if you really only plan on playing in the 6 to 8, then think about the projects you plan on doing and the routine work you are planning on doing. Based on those things, that should help you figure out the size tractor you should you look at.
