Thought we had a trespasser with flashlight last night

I betcha that the quarry is running a gravel CRUSHER (?) Might be what you're hearing.

They run a bunch of crushers. Really cool operation with some BIG equipment. I visited once for a kids field trip. :thumbsup::laughing::laughing::laughing: Dang hole in the ground is MUCH deeper than it looks. :shocked::laughing::laughing::laughing:

But we don't hear the crushers. The sound we hear only lasts for maybe 5-10 seconds? There is a rumbling noise with the gravel like sound. It DOES sound like a load of gravel being dumped but the sound lasts too long, often at night, when there are no trucks running near by. Go Figure. :confused3:

Funny with the moving lights.

Had (have) a similar situation.

My house is partially up a hill. There is a field (at the bottom) and another hill on the other side of the field.

When we first moved here, I could distinctly make out a 'flashlight' moving across the top of the other hill. This is good & bad.... our property line is over there and the odds are high that someone is trespassing....

Get worked up about it...go outside... and what is the rest of the story?

I live maybe 20/25 miles from the airport. There are several flight paths that bring planes towards us from a certain direction. Planes up in the sky with their 'headlights' on.... top of the hill is at a certain angle.... and sometimes that "flashlight" moves across the hill as though someone were moving.

Today I don't get so concerned about the flashlights.
