KUBOTA L175
hey there- new to all of this- have enjoyed reading lots of interesting thoughts and ideas. I made a post yesterday about valve adjustment for my L175- no responses yet, so I figure I should invest in a manual. On e-bay I see a manual that covers just about every L and B model ever made- price looks good, but..... is it any good? or to generic? what would you suggest? I have decent mechanical skills, but don't want to get in to things that I shouldn't. Thanks for the input

I bought one from Tractorsmart.com for a few dollars less, including shipping, then my local dealer. It seems like a photocopy of the Kubota manual. Maybe that's the way they come from the dealer, also.

Hello…
I don’t know about the manual you are referring to, but any information is better than none. My recommendation would be to get the Kubota WSM (work shop manual), for your particular tractor. These manuals are very well illustrated and put together.
As to your valves, a call to your local Kubota dealer and a short chat with the shop foreman or mechanic should give you the info you will need. Valve adjustment is time consuming but very easy. This is the valve adjust page for my L4200. KennyV.

Thanks for the fact sheet- I agree that some info is better than none. I was concerned that the manual that was listed on e-bay would end up being next to useless as it covered so many different models. It is an " I & T" publication. It's under $25.00 so even if it's of little value, I'm not out much- much cheaper than a trip to the dealer for sure! Again, thanks for the help.

ditto 149owner. You can get the actual Kubota Shop Manual from tractorsmart.com. It is well worth it.

I purchased 2...one being the shop manual and the second being the illistrated parts manual and I have to send the parts book back. The printing in about 1/2 of the pages is so light you cant see the part..?? Text is nice and clear but actual part "pics" are light to non-existant. I called Kubota and they wanted me to send it to them and they said they would have the publisher send me a MUCH better copy.

When I purchased my tractor 9yrs ago and got together on the price, told the dealer I'd take it if he throws in the shop&parts manual never had a dealer back down yet. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Bought the tractor, attachments, goldwing, powersaws, all have the workshop manuals. I do all my own work that I can. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thats the way to do it. If you buy from a dealer always get the manuals with the deal. If you do a lot of work yourself you'll be glad to get them.
