Hello,

I'm want a plug aerator to start working on my lawn, mostly flat, 2 acres. I got a GC1720, and looking at a Woods PL72 with 2 cast concrete weights, or a Frontier CA2072 (no extra weight included). Specs say I can lift 1100 lbs with the 3PH and seems I'd be close but not over that with the PL72 and concrete weights.

Question is, would you trust the published specs or look for a 48" or 60" instead? Yes, the 72 would be faster since it's wider but only if I can pull it successfully.

What say you?

Thanks!

The weight is at the pins.. since the implement if further away you wouldn't be able to lift it up..

If you play with the toplink you might be able to lift it an inch or so off the ground but that's about it... my small tractor has a capacity if 1100 lbs or so too and it can't lift my 60inch harley rake thats only. Maybe 750 lbs but it's spliced out like 4 ft away from the tractor... if I take off the rear wheels (20lbs each at most) or even use my hand to slightly push the implement up, it goes up and stays there...

Just things to take into consideration.. the distance

Thanks, that makes sense to me. I'll look for something that's a better size for my yard and equipment.
