That is precisely where I found out about the CPS problem Dan. My dealer fixed the CPS under warranty, and I would be surprised if yours would not. I am right at 60,000 miles, and am going to buy one and stick it in the tool box in my truck just in case it happens again. One thing to watch for is a decrease in gas mileage, as this seems to preclude the CPS going out.

Sounds like your truck is running great. I am getting around 17MPG, and am pretty happy with it. I am looking at replacing the exhaust and intake systems next, hoping for a little lower EGT, and perhaps even better mileage.

I had read that even under a warranty repair I would still have to pay
the 100 dollar warranty charge or what ever it is called. The CPS was
only $100. I bought it prior to a 700+ mile trip and just threw it in
the glove box. For this particular trip, I drive overnight and if I had
a problem with the CPS, I could fix it on the road if I had to. Even with
AAA and the towing benefit that Ford has I would rather be able to fix
the problem in five minutes that wait for the tow truck to show up.
Especially at 2:00am in the morning. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

On that trip, around 3,000 miles on the truck and driving 70-75
mph, I got 17.5 mpg on both legs of the trip. If I can hold
the mph down to 55 it looks like I can get 19-20mpg. Which
is unreal in a truck this size...

I'm hoping I can get at least 300K miles on this truck......

Later,
Dan

Actually Dan, you are probably right. It looks pretty simple to replace the thing, and I did have to pay a $50.00 deductable. I went ahead and let them do it, partially out of laziness, and also because the nearest International dealership is about 1.5 hours away. I have been very happy with my truck, as it seems you are too. I think that the mileage is really pretty amazing considering the size and weight of these things too.

I knew what happened before I finished your sentence. They are hard to push out of traffic too!
