Yes. Its just that this used equipment dealer is nearby and he seems to prefer Kubota. Prices on comparable JD are similar. Can't find any JDs within a couple hundred miles.

Dont overlook Case-IH and McCormick or any of the AGCO brands, either. After having owned & operated both, in a larger tractor, I’ll take case-IH, McCormick or AGCO over Kubota in a loader or farming application. Dont concern too much about HP specs, they all have enough to do their job. Its that the other brands are heavier and frequently have stronger hydraulics.
Realize your arent farming, but when I compare loader specs, I find Kubota usually doesnt compare well to others.
Not trying to sway you from Kubota-I own plenty of their tractors and theyre good tractors, just making honest observations on the bigger ones. The Kubotas run light.

Quick Example: When I was looking at 100HP tractors (about the same size you are) the Kubota M-100X weighed in at 8400lbs. The McCormick CX-100 weighed in at 9400lbs. Thats a solid 1,000 additional pounds of stability. More loader stability.

The tractor is no longer on the dealer's web site. Still on Tractor House but I suspect it is sold. Did not last long. Apparently you have to move pretty quick on these things.
You really do. Most of the time when you find a good deal, its because you really found a good deal.
And they dont last long.

Agree. The problem here is that both of the tractors I have considered were not what I would call a good deal. Pretty much everyone here agreed that they were overpriced for their condition and they still sold. But, in reality that means they were not overpriced. They are priced at what the market is bearing. Which sucks for those of us who waited too late!

Agree that weight can be a good thing, but it is not without its downsides. The M9000 with loader will be right at about the maximum I can tow with my truck and trailer. So in many cases for my usage light is a good thing.

Again, not hung up on Kubota, its just what has been available locally. As far as the other brands, we have Kubota and Deere dealers in the area. Not much of anything else so not sure about repairs and parts for other brands. The Kubota and Massey dealer near me (no longer Massey) told me NH parts were significantly higher priced than Kubota after I paid complained about a $30 rubber breather hose.

OK good to know you had a weight limit. (y)
The M9xxx series are good tractors. If you can find a 9540, you'd really like it. They have a 12, 18, 24 or 36 speed transmission avail.
I had M9540 dual speed and thought it was nice. Powershift, more gears, air ride, ultra grand cab, 4wd braking, extra remotes, cast rims.
Nice tractor but too small.

Wouldn't surprise me if that sold quick. Looked fairly decent. dual remotes.

Most tractors that config used here are caked in manure and mud and front tires completely bald.

I'd guess it was bought new as a fleet tractor hence number and fire extinguisher and was then later bought by a farmer.

The used tractor market, especially the used pre 4 tractors are totally a sellers market today, sort of like used late model cars. Just read in an industry magazine that the used car market ( later model efficient used cars (not lumberwagon SUV's) is up over 30% from last year this time.

Pre 4 tractors in the mid range power wise seem to be following suit.

When I bought the used M9 open station, I 'visited' visited it on a Sunday when the dealership was closed (bought it at a JD dealership of all places, only orange tractor on the lot. Dropped in with my Kubota key (all M9's take the same 2 keys and mine fit). Started it up and checked all the functions and went over it very carefully without a salesperson bugging me. Stayed overnight at a local motel and went back the next day when they were open and of course they wanted more than I was willing to pay so I bartered with them until the price was where I considered it to be worth and bought it, cash. 1/2 down and balance on delivery to the farm (dealer was 400 miles from here). Got it delivered to the farm 2 days later, paid the balance and that was that. Interestingly, I actually got an owners manual with it as well as a maintenance record.

Most used tractors come with nothing in my experience.

When I sell a piece of equipment (If I don't trade it in), I'll sell it on Tractor House, I always include the owners manuals or the shop manual if I have it as well as the maintenance records. Just how I roll. Every piece of equipment I own has it's own spreadsheet where we record all the maintenance as well as attach receipts for repair parts. Buyers appreciate that and at least in my case, the selling price seems to be better.

As time goes on, it will get more and more difficult to buy a used pre 4 tractor in any flavor or power range.

I bought the shop and parts manual for my L4400 as soon as I bought the tractor. It has been useful and has paid for itself several times over.

I had the 24 speed in my 9540 and thought it was nice.
Why I have the optional 12 x 12 on my cab unit. In fact my cab unit has all the available options that Kubota offered in the M9 series. I figured if I had to order it, might as well get everything so I did. Has the full arctic package on it, 2 speed pto, double tint glass, air ride seat, cast rears , 3 sets of remotes with flow control and swinging drawbar with fender mount inching control. The open station is pretty 'plain jane' except for the cast centers and 3 sets of remotes.

I really appreciate the 'arctic package when plowing snow. It keeps snow dust out of the air cleaner. Never used the block heater however. No need.

Open station plain Jane is what I’m looking for. I’ll even remove a canopy if it has one. I would love a cab but neither a canopy or cab would last long for the environment I work in.
