A place just down the road from me carries Armstrong attachments/implements. I like that this grapple opens really wide, just concerned about the bottom side not extending out very far. I want to pick up brush, which it should have no problem with, but I don't want any problem picking up logs up to 18"-24" in diameter.

Since the upper " jaws" hydraulically close I see no problem with that unit picking up any sized log.

I don't like it at all.

Short apron is going to really limit what it can carry.

Blunt jaw teeth is going to prevent it from digging into an odd shaped piece and snagging it.

Solid, one piece jaw is going to cause it to constantly be dropping material as you try to move it. The jaw will only be clamping hard on the largest object, everything else will try to fall out.

Mine seems to pick up brush piles very easy. (Picks up things it shouldn't too) image.jpg

That's what I'm thinking. I want to be able to scoop up stuff and then clamp down on it. I look at the clamp as more of a thing to keep the load from falling off during transport to the burn pile or whatever.

My first ever grapple was that style, works like a dozer blade for removing brush. Not great at picking up brush, good for picking up logs. Sold it when I sold the V518.

For picking up brush, and logs, I prefer this style.
