I know this discussion has been discussed thoroughly. I am torn by the DR or Northern. My budget will allow me to spend up to $2000.00. I was wondering about the pros and cons of both. I have an old Troybilt that I can both chip and shred. Are there other brands within my price range. It will have to be 3pt. The power source will be a Yanmar 1401 (17 hp)
Thanks

I have the Woods 5000 Chipper/shredder and you wont go wrong with it. I have driven it with a 12 hp compact. Just limits feed rate. It will cost you more than your $2000 and if you add a blower as I did, it will go over $3000. It may cost more but it is definitely more machine than the DR and probably more productive in the long run.

check out the long posts regarding the chinnese chippers.they run
about $1500 and 800 lbs vs the DR at 200 lbs . most of the differance is in the flywheel
