2004 Massey Ferguson 1455
I have a 2004, 1455 4WD Massey Ferguson. I usually use it for shredding. It's very powerful and compact. I plan on adding other attachments as my budget permits. Most recently the three-point hitch has been giving me some problems.

I changed the hydraulic fluid and filter but now the hitch will not move to the down position. It was getting sluggish during use prior to changing the fluid. The PTO and everything else on the tractor work great.

When I try to engage the tree point I do not hear any sound from the hydraulics and I can't get the tree point to move up or down. The PTO still works, I just can't lower the tree point.

I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix or troubleshoot.

Most tractors have an adjustable flow restrictor valve that regulates the down speed of your 3pt hitch. This allows you to adjust the down speed for different implements based on weight. If you close it all the way the 3pt will lock in the up position. That would be my first place to look.
