Just got home with my new135d and the tph will not raise. Fluid is ok no leaks. When loading it the other day a "helper" was messing with the stop valve saying it was the speed control for the lift. I knew it was not but was so excited to get it home that I probably dead headed it before checking the stop valve before operating the hitch. Anyway it makes no noise when tying to lift Please tell me I am wrong. I think I have sheared the pump key. If so how hard is it to fix. I tried to slowly close the stop valve to see if it would load and it would not. Any help appreciated. I know winston1 seems to know about this problem. Thanks

Did it ever lift when you were looking at it? All the lift handle mechanism seem to be intact and working? This pump and woodruff key is listed for your 135. Don't know just what kind of drive coupling it might have. You might try cracking open a pump discharge line at a convenient place and see if you could be getting any flow. If not, nothing left to do but pull the pump and have a look.

Yes it worked when I picked it up. I am no expert mechanic but can find my way around things. Ill see what i can. Ill crack a line. Thanks

It is my understanding that there are 2 screw in type valves which control hydraulic and 3pt action. One valve is on the right side below the seat. This valve controls the rate of decent of the 3pt. It regulates a small tapered pin on the valve body that allows oil to return from the lift cylinder and dump back to the transl housing. The second valve located under the front of the seat controls the port to the 3pt cylinder--it is after the control and relief valve and therefore, will not deadhead the pump. You cannot damage a pump by closing or opening the valves that are built into the machine.

If this second valve is closed you can neither lower nor raise the 3pt it is locked into position. If this valve were closed then the 3pt would not raise.

Another possibility is the internal linkage for the 3pt control valve. I have had a spring roll pin break several times and when it does you cannot operate the 3pt. It will stay in what ever position it was.

Check these out BEFORE starting some major teardown.

MJPeterson may be right, however, based on your description of what happened I would still procede with cracking a line looking for flow. It is a "remote" possibility the relief valve hung in the open position if the stop valve was closed.

I have tried to operate the hitch with both valves open and closed in all positions and no luck. I can raise the hitch with my hand. Where exactly is the relife pin located.

My experience is based on the 1510 which has a powershift trans and therefore may be a bit different. I am not positive about the 135, but on the small Yanmars that I have seen the control valve is inside the top cover of the transmission, under the seat. Does your 3pt lift lever have definite detent positions for lift, down and neutral? If not your problem may be the linkage.

The 3pt control lever attaches to a shaft that enters the right side of the top cover of the trans. This shaft is pinned to a fork that actuates the control valve. The pin on mine has broken several times and It requires that the top be removed. One of the things you must disconnect in order to take off the top cover is the hyd line from the pump. [You can test at this point if you desire, to see if you have flow, but be aware that you may have flow with no pressure even if the key were sheered, but when any pressure is built the shaft may then slip in the drive.]

Be very careful when you lift the cover up and off as there is a tapered 1/4 " diameter valve body that controls the drop rate of the 3pt. It is easy for it to fall out of its hole and go "plop" into the trans oil. Sometimes they can fall into places that are not easy to get to and you cannot leave it in there. :eek:These things I know.:ashamed:

Overall it is pretty straight forward and you should not have much trouble getting it off.

You can raise the lift arms by hand because the piston for hyd lift is not attached to the rock shaft. When you lift the arms you are just pulling the actuating rod away from its seat in the piston. One way action.
