I've had my tractor at home now for two days and I've done as much work (play!?) as I have had time for. The 2610 is a great machine. I do have one small problem with the throttle control - the throttle arm won't stay over ~2000rpm and after use will drift back to around 1500-1800rpm unless I maintain the throttle with the foot control. There seems to be a little play in the control. Is there an adjustment for the throttle control arm or do I just need to tighten some of the screw connections? Any suggestions? Thanks.

PS - I do have pictures now but realized that my camera resolution was set too high when I tried to post (600k images don't work here!) I'll try to get some lower res. pics or post them somewhere else.

mtimber,
When my 1700 started the same thing I noticed there is a rubber/neoprene washer between the throttle lever and and the backing plate. The washer had split and was no longer providing the proper friction to keep the lever where I want it. You could tighten the center bolt, but could put some pressure on the above washer and make it wear.

Mtimber:
I'm not sure on gray market models but on my ym187 there is a spring with ball bearing to apply pressure and you can hear it "click" when you push on the throttle lever or when you shut down the throttle. There is also a spring attached to the throttle lever it maybe getting weak. If there is a nut at the pivot point on the throttle lever you may want to tighten it down and see it that applys friction to hold the lever in place, my throttle lever takes a little bit of gusto to move it and it stays in place. Good to hear you are enjoying you new purchase /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

My 1700 would kreep down as well. I made a new washer out of a tire innertube, and it works great now. The innertube was thicker, and a bit more spongier. After tightening the nuts down it works great. Have to wase the friction surface on the metal too.. get any grease/oil/dust off of there.

I also fabbed/injunierred something like this for my 3pt lever that had most of the hardware gone that help the lever to the sector guide rail. Again, some rubber innertube and small hardware ( nuts/bolts/washers ) did the trick.

Yanmar has changed from rubber to hard fiber friction discs for the throttle control lever. They also make the same type discs for the 3 point lift lever. You can get theese from most YM dealers.
