The throttle on my B2710 has been getting more and more difficult to move, and it's not at all smooth. I have to kind of bang it with the heel of my hand and it moves in jerks. I've tried spraying some silicon down the shaft, but it has no effect. It looks like I need to go behind the dashboard to get at whatever is tight. Any suggestions on how to fix this before I tear into it.
thanks

I had a simalar issue with my BX. I sprayed both ends of the cable entry from shifter and the motor side. I also sprayed the bar, washers and everything. I tried silcone too long time ago and it seems to help but it will "stick again". I sprayed last fall with white lithuim teflon spray and its still working today from that last spray. try switching the spray can and spray the cable as well.

Mine is the same way on my B3200. I just got used to it. I wish it was smooth, but it's not, so I live with it.

If I recall correctly that is what I did with my B2910 - I know I disassembled the dash and I lubricated the linkage .... can't recall if I loosened any fasteners or not ....

That was hundreds of hours ago and it's still working fine ....

Not sure on the B's but some tractors have grease fittings on the linkages. Double check that as well as make sure there aren't any twigs or sticks jammed in anywhere that things move. This ocassionally happens to me when doing work in the woods.

if you can buy an aerosol can of Fluid Film from a local john deere deere dealer you will no longer have throttle problems as it is an excellent penetrating lubricant. it works very well for lubricating throttle cables in tube sheaths and it stays where you spray it with the straw or the nozzle.

Its biodegradeable and made from sheeps wool natural oils.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take the good advice and attack this thing next weekend.

I have an L4310 that had similar issues. I sprayed the livindaylights out of the linkages and cable with white lithium. Let'er soak then mopped up the excess. 6 months later with a very wet winter and spring, still smooth as silk.
